I’m optimistic...

like many other people around the world.

I don't always make political posts, but I'm going to open an exception today.

Unless you've spend the last four years in some place near Alpha Centauri, you probably know that Barack Obama was sworn the 44th President of the United States of America.

I have watched his campaign from the fight with Hillary Clinton to his nomination, and outstanding winning election.

And I'm optismitc about the future.

I’m glad....

to know that even in heaven, there are troubles.

For the last few years people that work in IT hear the rumors that working for Google is something like work in heaven, complete with angelical wings and golden halo.

From one of newsletters I subscribe I was sent to this post on TechCrunch, that describes a few of the troubles there.

Ranging from incredibly long hiring process, to pay cuts (!!!) passing through poor management and micromanagement.

Just to quote a guy named Stevens about the Google hiring process:

"And let me say this: if Larry Page is still reviewing resumes, shareholders should organize a rebellion. That is a scandalous waste of time for someone at that level, and the fact that it’s 'quirky' is no mitigation."

I found this image through one of the newsletters I subscribe, and although I do not agree with some of the items, I do find it rather amusing.

Sometimes I have to develop softwares that send e-mails with reports of activities for tracking purposes, i.e., sending e-mails when a task is completed, the error log, this kind of stuff.

Being an old-timer, I like to use those signature graphs made out with characters, like below:
